When Opportunity Knocks, Open The Door!
Have you ever passed on an opportunity, only to regret it some time in the future? Yeah, me too! So now I know that when opportunity knocks, open the door!
It can be painful to watch others moving forward in their lives, in their businesses, and know that you too could be moving forward, but you passed on opportunities that others jumped on.
Let's take a minute and look at this. I would say the most common reason a person might choose to pass on an opportunity is fear.
Now, right about now you may be thinking, “Cathy, that's just not true! I passed because I didn't have the money” or “I didn't have enough skills” or “I could never do that, I don't (fill in the blank)”
But in reality, it really all boils down to fear. Fear that you would lose the money you invested, fear that you couldn't learn the skills you would need to learn, or fear that you just weren't good enough.
Fear can be crippling, and it stops so many people form opening that door when opportunity comes knocking.
Opportunity knocked and I could not turn away.
I started learning about online marketing in 2002. On one hand it was so exciting, and on the other, it was a bit daunting. There was so much to learn, even the lingo was foreign to me. I'd like to say I pushed through, never got confused or discouraged, and just kept going.
But the truth is, I got flustered, I let fear and self-doubt take over, and put everything on the back burner while I started a brick and mortar business instead.
I have always felt that when opportunity knocks, it's best to open the door!
Things were much more difficult then than they are now. Now things are much more automated and access to tools, training, and a system to help has made things so much easier.
